Scheme
SIDBI-iDEX Seed Fund
The SIDBI-iDEX Seed Fund provides institutional seed funding to innovation-led MSMEs and startups in the defence and related sectors that have been selected and supported by iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) under its challenges. The objective is to encourage early-stage startups, first-time founders and MSMEs to develop and commercialise new defence technologies, promote import substitution and domestic defence manufacturing, and enable their scale-up. SIDBI provides funding directly to the startup; implementing incubators (such as SINE, IIT Bombay) act as partners. Post-investment SIDBI shareholding in any single company generally does not exceed 10%.
