IncubationA 4-week pre-Batch program designed for individuals without a formed team or idea to find co-founders, validate concepts, build MVP, and pitch for funding.

The program lasts four weeks and directly precedes HOOK’s regular batches. It includes access to cohort profiles, a platform for introductions, daily meet-ups, presentations, group exercises, informal events, user interviews, workshops, product iteration workshops, and MVP construction. It ends with a pitch to the HOOK investment committee. Successful teams receive funding of 50,000 EUR in exchange for a 5% equity stake. The program is only for applicants based in Paris. It is not required to be from 42 to apply.

The main program runs two batches a year (spring and fall). It is designed in two phases: The sprint phase (2 months) includes a 50k EUR investment for 5% equity, weekly Kick-Offs, two Office Hours, Dinners, pitch sessions, and workshops. The growth phase (1 month) focuses on preparing for Demo Day, pitching, talking to investors, and raising funds. The program includes weekly 'Escale' sessions with successful entrepreneurs, access to quality mentoring during on-demand and unlimited office hours, and a Demo Day for investors and journalists. Support continues post-Demo Day through office hours, community events, and an alumni network. At least one founder should be a current student, alumni, or have an association with 42, though exceptions are made.

About Hook
Hook is an early-stage investment programme built for founders at the hardest point, the very start of a company. It runs twice a year, selecting a batch of ten startups each time and investing at that first stage. The team is made up of three operators: Maxime Arnulf, who founded an accelerator at HEC Paris and worked as a country manager at Bosch, Kevin Primicerio, founder and chief executive of Pianity with a background in data science and blockchain, and Sydney Cohen, founder and chief technology officer of Axolo, a Y Combinator 2021 company. Founders who join become part of a community of fifty founders and more, and get introductions to over a hundred experts drawn from the programme's backers and advisers. Its portfolio includes companies such as Klap, BeReal and CrunchDAO.
