Standing programmes at Startmate, separate from the funding calls above.

Accelerate the growth of your startup, offering investment, mentorship and a clear pathway to raising capital.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The Startmate Accelerator is designed to fast-track growth in 12 weeks. It invests AUD $120,000 at a AUD $1.5m post-money valuation for founders who haven’t raised a previous round, and matches the latest valuation for those who have (if they raised at least AUD $250,000 from VC or angel investors). The program is hybrid, with three in-person weeks in Melbourne (Week 0, Week 7, Demo Day) and the remainder remote. It's industry agnostic and supports companies from idea-stage/pre-MVP to more established teams.

About Startmate

Startmate operates as an accelerator and community for founders, operators, and investors in Australia and New Zealand. It primarily supports early-stage startups, including those at idea-stage and pre-MVP, across a diverse range of industries from ed-tech and health-tech to climate-tech and fin-tech. The core offering is the Startmate Accelerator, a 12-week hybrid program that includes investment, access to a network of mentors, and a platform for fundraising, with a strong focus on customer obsession and product building. Beyond the Accelerator, Startmate fosters its community through programs like Open House, a pre-accelerator series focusing on startup ideas and best practices, and initiatives for student founders and angel investors. Startups engage by applying to the Accelerator, which involves a multi-stage application process including interviews with mentors who are personally invested in the Startmate fund.
