Start-Ups Intellectual Property Protection (SIPP) Scheme

The eligibility criteria require that the startup be recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Its existence and operations should not exceed ten years from the date of formation. The DPIIT Certificate of Recognition is granted to startups incorporated as Private Limited Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), or Registered Partnership Firms. The entity's annual turnover must not exceed ₹100 crore in any financial year since its inception. Additionally, the company should not have been formed by splitting up or restructuring an already existing entity. It must be engaged in developing a product, process, or service and should have a scalable business model with high potential for wealth creation and employment generation. Furthermore, startups must provide a self-declaration confirming that they have not utilized other government funds for the same purpose.
