Residential electricity consumers installing rooftop solar on their own premises are directly eligible for Central Financial Assistance (CFA). How much subsidy is available for residential consumers?

The CFA is slab-based: up to ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, and ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above per household. The subsidy is credited directly to the consumer''s bank account after installation and inspection.

What are the benefits for MSMEs?

MSMEs can reduce electricity costs substantially through net-metering (excess solar power fed to the grid offsets the bill). State industrial incentive policies often stack additional capital subsidies or interest subvention for solar on MSME premises. The RESCO model also allows zero-capex solar with a power-purchase agreement.

No. CFA is a non-repayable subsidy. No equity stake is taken by the government.

Apply on the national portal at pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Select your state DISCOM, register, and apply for net-metering. Only empanelled vendors listed on the portal may install the system. After installation, the DISCOM inspects and issues a net-meter; the subsidy is then disbursed within 30 days.

Can I combine this with other schemes?

Yes. MSMEs can combine PM Surya Ghar benefits with solar components of state industrial incentive policies and with MSME technology-upgrade schemes where solar capex is an eligible expense.
