AOP (Agripreneurship Orientation Programme) (AFBIC, IIT Kharagpur)

The Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (AOP) is an initiative by the Agri-Food Business Incubation Centre (AFBIC) at IIT Kharagpur, supported under the central government's RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme. It targets idea-stage and prototype-stage entrepreneurs in the agriculture, food, and allied sectors. The primary goal is to help founders validate their concepts and develop a working prototype.

Selected participants are eligible for a non-dilutive grant of up to ₹5 lakh upon successful completion of the selection, training, and evaluation process. Beyond funding, the program offers structured mentorship and market linkage support. A key eligibility criterion is a connection to West Bengal; the program is open to founders from the state or ventures originating there. Applications for Cohort 3.0 close on June 30, 2026.

AIP (Agri-Startup Incubation Programme) (AFBIC, IIT Kharagpur)

For more mature startups, AFBIC at IIT Kharagpur offers the Agri-Startup Incubation Programme (AIP). This program is designed for agri-food ventures that have progressed beyond the idea stage and have an MVP, beta product, or are ready for expansion. Like AOP, it operates under the RKVY-RAFTAAR program.

Successful startups can receive a significant grant-in-aid of up to ₹25 lakh. The incubation support includes one month of online mentorship and a 15-day on-campus workshop at IIT Kharagpur, providing direct access to the institute's domain experts and agri-startup network. This program is also linked to West Bengal, and its application deadline is June 30, 2026.

SOP (Student Orientation Programme) (AFBIC, IIT Kharagpur)

The Student Orientation Programme (SOP) is the third RKVY-RAFTAAR scheme from AFBIC, IIT Kharagpur, specifically tailored for student innovators. It aims to support students with technology or business ideas in the agriculture and food sectors, helping them bridge the gap from concept to an initial product.

Selected students can receive a non-dilutive grant of up to ₹4 lakh. The program provides both technical and business mentoring, leveraging the resources of IIT Kharagpur's Agricultural and Food Engineering department. The eligibility criteria require student founders to be from West Bengal or their venture to originate from the state. The application deadline is June 30, 2026.

Women's Economic Empowerment (IIMA Ventures)

The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) program is a technology and innovation initiative led by IIMA Ventures, the incubator at IIM Ahmedabad, with support from the Gates Foundation.
