About this grant
The Agri-Startup Incubation Programme (AIP) is run by the Agri-Food Business Incubation Centre (AFBIC) at IIT Kharagpur under the RKVY-RAFTAAR program of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India. It backs agri-food startups that have moved past the idea stage and are at MVP, beta, or expansion stage of their product or service.
Selected startups receive grant-in-aid of up to ₹25 lakh, disbursed after the selection, training, and performance evaluation process. The programme also provides one month of online mentorship and a 15-day on-campus incubation workshop at IIT Kharagpur, giving founders structured exposure to the institute's Agricultural and Food Engineering department, domain experts, and AFBIC's agri-startup network.
AIP is designed for West Bengal–linked ventures working in agriculture, food processing, and allied sectors. The grant is non-dilutive: AFBIC does not take equity. Cohort 3.0 applications close on 30 May 2026.
