About SINE, IIT Bombay

SINE (Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) is the technology business incubator at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Established in 2004, it is one of the earliest academic incubators in India and has played a foundational role in shaping the country's deep-tech startup ecosystem. SINE provides incubation infrastructure, mentorship, funding support, and access to IIT Bombay's research labs and faculty expertise. It has supported over 245 startups that have collectively raised more than 940 million dollars and generated over 300 intellectual properties. SINE also launched the Y Point Venture Capital Fund with a corpus of approximately 250 crore rupees to invest in early-stage deep-tech startups emerging from IIT Bombay and other research institutions, focusing on areas such as AI, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, climate technology, and space and defence.
