Choosing a programme

• Early-stage deep tech teams: start with the Global Challenge, which closes 30 November 2026, or Deep Tech Pioneers, which is free and open all year.

How applications work

• Deep Tech Pioneers applications are reviewed monthly, and you hear back within two months.
• Deep Tech Pioneers members get automatic eligibility and a saved pre-application for the Global Challenge.

Before you apply

• Check country eligibility on each programme page. The ESA challenge is limited to ESA member states.
• Confirm the prize terms. The Global Challenge and Deep Tech Pioneers pages describe the prize money differently.
• Confirm who pays for the Chile residency. The page describes the platform as paid but does not say who pays.

What the Global Challenge asks for

• A new technology, scientific discovery or complex engineering process.
• An unmet need addressed, or a new market created.
• A team of at least two people, and not a subsidiary or spin-off of an existing company.

Hello Tomorrow is a Paris-registered organisation that runs startup competitions, a free recognition scheme, an accelerator residency and events for early-stage deep tech companies. Its legal entity is Hello Tomorrow SAS, a French simplified joint stock company. Its summit is held in Amsterdam, and it also does consulting work for companies.

How the programmes work

The Global Challenge is a competition for early-stage deep tech teams. It asks for a new technology, scientific discovery or complex engineering process, an unmet need or a new market, and a team of at least two people. Applications close on 30 November 2026. Finalists pitch at the summit in Amsterdam in June 2027. The prize terms are described differently on different pages, so check them before you apply.

Deep Tech Pioneers is a free recognition scheme, and applications are open all year. The organisation reviews applications monthly and says it replies within two months. Pioneers receive a free first-year summit ticket, a chance to exhibit, a premium service for introductions to investors or partners, and automatic eligibility for the Global Challenge.

The Deep Scale Climate Tech Accelerator is a residency built as part of Startuplab.01 in Chile. It offers wet and dry laboratories, communal workspace and structured venture support, plus a route into Latin America. The Asia-Europe Innovation Bridge is a community that links technology startups, industry partners, incubators and investors across Europe and Asia. It runs launch sessions, webinars and online pitch events for international investors.

Two calls on the site are closed. The ASML Emerging Innovator Award offered coaching from ASML specialists to deep tech entrepreneurs at technology readiness levels 4 to 6. The ESA Φ-Lab Grand Marathon asked for AI-enabled concepts that detect short-lived hazards.

Who can apply

Eligibility differs by programme. The Global Challenge and Deep Tech Pioneers are open to deep tech startups. The ESA challenge is limited to applicants from ESA member states. The Asia-Europe Innovation Bridge splits its benefits between Asian and European companies. No programme page read names India as an eligible country, so check each programme page for country rules before you apply.

Services and events for others

Hello Tomorrow also serves investors and companies. Investor Day is a one-day event of one-to-one meetings between selected deep tech startups and venture and corporate venture investors in Amsterdam. Its investor network says more than 1,300 VCs and CVCs are part of it. Its consulting work helps companies understand deep tech trends and find new markets. A separate corporate service helps clients build and test solutions around acceleration programmes or corporate venturing units. Startups are not the buyers of these services.

The organisation also runs a Women in Deep Tech initiative, which pairs women deep tech founders with mentors through curated matchmaking. The location of these sessions is given differently across the site.

Scale

The organisation's figures are self-reported, and they differ between its pages. The homepage gives 22,000 solutions identified, while the About Us page gives 30,000. The consulting page says more than 20,000 deep tech solutions have been scouted. The homepage says it partners with more than 500 universities and accelerators, and the About Us page says more than 150. The counters also give different figures for the amount raised by its top 300 startups, so this page does not repeat them. The consulting page says the organisation is connected with a network of 250 worldwide ecosystem partners.

Locations

The statutory seat is in Paris. The organisation says it has 72 representatives in 30 countries. Its homepage says it has local offices in four countries, and its About Us page says five. Its summit is held in Amsterdam.
