Pre-incubation is the earliest stage REVA NEST runs, described as a way to turn an idea into a minimum viable product. It is open to founders, students and working professionals, and it mixes structured live workshops with experts, peer-to-peer learning, introductions and one-to-one support. The incubator has run it with a corporate partner and alongside a product-development workshop, and it has no form of its own — you come in through the same incubation application.

REVA NEST describes a twelve-month accelerator aimed at promising early-stage start-ups in its thrust areas — internet of things, electronic system design and manufacturing, robotics and intelligent systems, bio and life sciences, clean energy, renewable energy, and art and design. Selected start-ups get mentorship, strategic direction and access to local and global mentors and partners.

Treat the detail as thin. There is no cohort number, no intake date, no separate application and no named partner on the page, and the call to action printed under it belongs to a different programme. Ask before you plan around it.

REVA NEST runs boot camps for first-time entrepreneurs who have an idea but have not yet done the research and planning needed to convince a bank, an angel or their own family. The stated purpose is to teach you how to write a business plan, take a hard look at what you need and what you can expect, find the holes in the idea, and prepare answers to the questions anyone will ask you. Formats vary — a weekend, several weeks, or a few months.

This is a standing description rather than a scheduled programme: the only dated boot-camp event on the page is a pitch day from 2019, and a university-edition start-up boot camp with a corporate partner appears only in the 2023 brochure. Ask whether one is running before you plan around it.

These camps are run by REVA University's innovation and entrepreneurship development cell inside its Industry Interaction Centre, for the university's own engineering and science students. They are funded under a Department of Science and Technology entrepreneurship scheme and supported by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, with which REVA signed a partnership in March 2018. The aim is to show students what entrepreneurship as a career actually involves.

This one is for students, not outside founders — the page says so explicitly.

REVA NEST claims MSME recognition and Karnataka government support. The MSME side checks out against the ministry's own host-institute list, though it is listed there under REVA University's name. Nothing on its pages claims an Atal Incubation Centre, an AIM NITI Aayog tie, a DST NIDHI recognition or DPIIT recognition, despite outside writeups that call it an Atal centre.

Recognised by the Ministry of MSME

REVA NEST says on its own pages, and on the university's, that it is recognised by MSME. The ministry's live list of host institutes under its incubation scheme does carry an entry for REVA University at this campus address — under the university's name rather than the incubator's, because the recognition is institutional. Neither source gives a date or a period, so whether it is current cannot be told.

Supported by the Government of Karnataka, Department of Science and Technology

REVA NEST's own wording. It names no scheme, no order and no period, and does not make clear whether this means the state department or the central one, so treat it as a statement rather than a verified grant.
