Government of Gujarat Startup Scheme

The state's own startup scheme, which reaches founders through approved nodal institutes. VentureStudio is one of them, so a recommendation from it is part of the route.

What you get

• A grant towards prototype development, professional services and marketing
• Additional grant support for projects with significant social benefit
• A monthly sustenance allowance for a year, set higher where the startup has at least one woman co-founder
• Workspace, business mentoring and access to design and fabrication facilities
• An interest subsidy on eligible term loans, and support for taking part in recognised accelerators

Who can apply

• Individuals or teams based in Gujarat with a novel idea or product concept, recommended by a recognised nodal institute
• Registered entities — LLP, partnership or private limited — within ten years of incorporation and under the scheme's turnover ceiling
• The venture must show a new or improved technology, product or service with real potential to create jobs or wealth
• Not for entities formed by splitting or reconstructing an existing business, or for startups already taking another state startup incentive for the same purpose

How selection works: the nodal institute recommends you, and the designated state committees and the Office of the Industries Commissioner decide on eligibility, disbursement and evaluation. Progress monitoring and financial audits follow.
