About Startup India Seed Fund Scheme
A Government of India scheme that supports proof of concept, prototyping, product trials and market entry, released against milestones rather than as a single payment. The centre's page describes its own role in five steps: applications come in, the team screens and shortlists them, an expert committee assesses them and runs due diligence, selected startups get mentoring and training, and funds are released as the venture hits its goals.
The centre states a preference for four areas: clean energy solutions for agriculture, climate-resilient crop inputs, technology for agricultural waste management, and water conservation and precision agriculture.
