DGQA Facilitation Cell for defence indigenisation

The cell was created on 22 May 2020 and has worked from 1 June 2020. It helps manufacturers in and around Coimbatore register with the Directorate General Quality Assurance so they can take part in tenders from the Ministry of Defence's procurement agencies, ordnance factories and defence public sector undertakings.

What you get

• Help to obtain a SCAGE number (self-certification and green channel status) from the Directorate of Standardisation.
• Lists of items planned for procurement and items proposed for indigenisation, shared with regional MSMEs.
• A published route: pick a product to indigenise, on-site assessment, DGQA vendor registration, a project proposal, prototype validation, then supply.

Who can apply

• Manufacturers and MSMEs in and around Coimbatore that want to supply the defence forces.

How selection works: after you choose a product, CDIIC and the DGQA nodal officer carry out an on-site assessment of the firm before registration.
