Pre-Incubation

Pre-Incubation is the door for someone who has a healthcare idea but not yet a product. It gives structured validation, early feedback from clinicians and a place to work while the concept turns into something testable. Applications stay open all year.

Who can apply

• Individuals as well as registered companies; the form has a flag for student applicants and treats company registration details as optional
• Anyone working on healthcare innovation, including medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, biotech and life sciences
• Both outside innovators and AIIMS Patna clinicians

How selection works: The same seven steps as Incubation. An internal committee screens the application, shortlisted applicants pitch to a technical committee, and those selected sign an MoU, an NDA and a conflict-of-interest declaration before a facility orientation and safety briefing. Progress is then reviewed at intervals against technology readiness levels.

How to apply: Fill the pre-incubation form on the APIIC website, or send it by email or post. It asks for your background and qualification, the innovation title and description, how long you expect to need to reach a prototype, the space and equipment you want, whether you will need clinical samples or biosafety clearance, and whether you are already with another incubator.
