About Atal Incubation Centres (AIC) scheme
Atal Incubation Centres are incubators that AIM supports with grants-in-aid at universities, institutions and corporates. The scheme is for the organisations that host a centre. A founder who wants to be incubated applies to a centre, and each centre runs its own call.
What the scheme provides to a centre
- Grants-in-aid to set up the centre for a period of five years
- Seed support that a centre can pass to its incubated startups, with a cap per startup, in the form of grants, and the guidelines also mention debt or equity
Who can apply to AIM to host a centre
- Higher educational institutions, R&D institutes, companies, alternative investment funds registered with SEBI and business accelerators
- At least three years of existence at the time of application
- Non-government applicants that made a loss in any of the previous three years are not considered
How to apply: As a host, apply online to AIM during a call. AIM's homepage currently says the AIC application portal is not open. As a founder, find a centre in AIM's register and follow that centre's own call.
