About Off-site Incubation
Off-site incubation is for a start-up, venture or enterprise working in a horticulture-related field that continues to operate from its own premises. Unlike the on-site track it does not require an ICAR technology licence: the technology can come from ICAR-IIHR, from any other institute, or be the venture's own innovation.
The same page also describes an individual incubatee module, open to any Indian citizen interested in a horticulture-related field, for turning an idea into a proof of concept on a scientific basis and then into a start-up. That module is the route in for someone who does not yet have a company.
What you get
- Mentorship from the business and technology mentors available to BESST-HORT, charged case by case
- Scientific mentorship routed to ICAR-IIHR research divisions covering fruit crops, vegetable crops, flower and medicinal crops, crop protection, natural resources, biotechnology, post-harvest technology and agricultural engineering
- Help with initial business planning, aligning resources with technology commercialisation, seeking funding and seeking collaborations
- Networking and market linkage support
Who can apply
- Any start-up, venture or enterprise working in a field related to horticulture
- Or, under the individual module, any Indian citizen interested in a horticulture-related field
- Membership is annual; women-owned enterprises and women members get a 50% discount on the membership fee
How to apply: No application form or deadline is published. Contact BESST-HORT at info@bessthort.in and ask for the current intake process, saying which module you want.
