About Pre-Incubation

Pre-Incubation is the incubator's entry programme. It describes it as a five to seven week experience for entrepreneurs and early startups to turn ideas into workable business models, and names possible future incubation as the next step. There is no closing date on the application, so it reads as open all year.

What you get

  • Five to seven weeks of structured work on turning an idea into a business model
  • A route into the incubation programme afterwards
  • Access to the incubator's mentor panel, coworking space and campus laboratories

Who can apply

  • Anyone with an idea or an early startup; no restriction to the university's own students, staff or alumni
  • Teams with no registered company — the form accepts not registered as an answer
  • Companies of any form: proprietorship, partnership, limited liability partnership or private limited
  • No geography, domicile, age or category restriction is stated, and nothing limits applications to Odisha
  • Its declared focus is agritech and food tech, though the form's sector list is much broader

How selection works: not published. The application ends at submit with nothing said about what follows, so ask when you apply.

How to apply: fill the Pre-Incubation Application Form on the incubator's site. It asks for your details and qualification, your native state, your startup and its registration status, your sector and stage, and then the problem you are solving, your value proposition, your unique selling point, your customers, your competitors, how you will scale, your revenue model and your market size. You upload a pitch deck, list your founders and co-founders, and say what you want from the programme and how much funding you need and in what form. It also asks whether you have already had support from a government scheme or from another incubator. For questions first, write to ceo.tbi@cgu-odisha.ac.in.
