About Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a subsidy for people setting up a new micro-enterprise project. Delhi has no District Industries Centre, so KVIC runs it in the city through its state office together with the Board. The Board's 2024-25 annual report marks the scheme as continuing.
What you get
- A subsidy towards a new micro-enterprise project.
- A project cost that can include a term loan for capital expenditure and working capital.
Who can apply
- Individuals above 18 years of age.
- No income ceiling applies to assistance.
- Projects above a size threshold need at least a Class VIII pass. The threshold is lower for business and service units than for manufacturing.
- Projects must include capital expenditure.
- Only one person per family, counting self and spouse, can receive assistance.
- Units already subsidised under another central or state scheme are not eligible.
How to apply: Apply online only, through the PMEGP portal that KVIC has developed. Manual applications are not allowed.
