About GIIC pre-incubation and incubation programmes
GIFT Innovation and Incubation Centre runs pre-incubation and incubation support for technology-based startups. The support runs from the idea stage to a working business, and the centre can take a stake in return.
What you get
- Mentoring and training on business strategy, product development and market validation.
- Introductions to industry, investors and mentors through the centre's network.
- Access to funding, including internal seed funding and links to external grants.
- Business incubation premises at a subsidised cost, with access to laboratories, IT services and training.
Who can apply
- Startups jointly owned or co-founded by GIFT Autonomous researchers, with or without outsiders.
- Startups that come out of the institute's research and development work, or that pursue commercialisation in technology domains.
- Startups that do not compete with the college's core activities. Other startups are considered case by case.
How selection works: an application covering the idea, team and a business plan or prototype is screened on innovation, feasibility, scalability and impact. Shortlisted teams pitch or meet the Incubation Committee.
