About NIDHI PRAYAS
NIDHI PRAYAS gives prototype funding to convert an idea into a working physical product that has commercial potential. The grant has a maximum ceiling set by the scheme, and the centre's page states the figure.
What you get
- Prototype grant, with the IP from the work vesting with the innovator or startup
- Access to the centre's facilities and mentoring from industry and academic experts
Who can apply
- Individual innovators without a startup, or co-founders of an Indian startup
- Indian citizens aged 18 or over
- Startups incorporated in India, no more than 7 years old, with at least 51% of equity held by Indian citizens, and a turnover ceiling that applies
- Projects that are not pure software, e-commerce, service or app-only
How selection works: a committee decides approval, rejection or a reduced amount, and its decision is final.
