About DIAL — Dedicated Innovation AcceLerator
DIAL is for companies that are already past the incubation stage. It fast-tracks a startup through focused intervention, pushing innovations into the commercial domain and helping validate products and technology with real customers. Registration showed as closed when we last checked.
What you get
- Financial support for the project
- Technical and business mentorship, if you need it
- Customer connections, investor connections and internationalisation support
- Access to the Gopalakrishnan Deshpande Centre at IIT Madras
Who can apply
- Existing startups and companies
- You have licensable technology
- You have at least one revenue-generating customer
- Preference goes to companies in sensors, networking, actuators and control systems, and only proposals in those areas are considered
Note on ownership: DIAL is the one Pravartak scheme where equity can be involved. The licence fee can be substituted through equity at a mutually agreed valuation, and where the project draws on an external funding source the IP and technology ideas can be jointly owned by Pravartak and that funder, with royalties shared between them. Read the terms before you commit.
How selection works: a proposal in Pravartak's format with objective, milestones and expenditure, submitted during a call. Technical Review Committee shortlist, then a presentation to the Technical Evaluation Committee. Approved projects are reviewed quarterly. Pravartak looks for joint licensing of products or technology, a filed patent, jobs created, UG, PG and PhD candidates deployed, and a multiplied customer base.
How to apply: submit a proposal during an open call. The scheme page lists a coordinator inbox for clarifications.
