About JIS Business Incubation Center — MSME Host Institute route
JIS College of Engineering was empanelled as a Host Institute and Business Incubator under the Ministry of MSME scheme Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through Incubators. The approval was cleared at a scheme committee meeting in New Delhi in December 2019 and the college was issued its host institute registration number in January 2020. Applications are open on a rolling basis — no intake window or deadline is published.

How selection works: The college does not describe its own screening. Under the scheme, the host institute submits ideas and approval is granted centrally by the ministry. The ministry's letter published by the centre also notes that no plant and machinery support is released to a host institute until at least two ideas have been approved for it.
How to apply: Register and get validated on the government idea portal at innovate.mygov.in, click "Add new application form", select West Bengal in the state field, and choose JIS College of Engineering as your host institution.
