About Startup World Cup
Startup World Cup is the global pitch competition organised by Pegasus Tech Ventures. Startups apply to a regional round. Regional winners go through to a Grand Finale in Silicon Valley, where the winner of the finale is offered the investment prize the competition is built around.
Applying and pitching take no equity. The prize itself is made as investment — in exchange for a portion of equity based on your most recent funding round, or as a convertible note, depending on the size of your company and how much funding you have raised — and it is subject to satisfactory due diligence. It is not a grant.
The competition's own pages give different counts of the regional circuit: more than 100 regionals on one page, more than 200 regional events on another, and more than 40 regional competitions in the terms and conditions.
Who can apply
- Startups in any domain, at any stage
- The startup must be a legal entity, not just an idea
- Applications are accepted regardless of location; apply to the closest regional
How selection works: Most regional competitions feature the top 10 to 20 startups among the applicants. Finalists pitch at an onsite event, and the regional winner goes on to the Grand Finale.
How to apply: Apply through the application page for the regional round closest to you. Applying is free, though some regionals sell optional exhibition booths. Flights and hotels to the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley are not covered. Questions go to info@startupworldcup.io.
