About Business Incubator
The Business Incubator is the centre's route for founders who need a place to test an idea at the laboratory or workshop stage. The support is set out in the scheme guidelines that the centre publishes, which are dated May 2010. The site links those guidelines and an application form, but gives no intake date.
What you get
-
Laboratory and workshop facilities, with other assistance and guidance for young innovators.
-
Business mentoring, technology support, networks, and scientific and information resources, under the scheme guidelines.
Who can apply
-
Students and ex-students of science and technology, and entrepreneurs, as the guidelines describe.
-
The application form asks whether you have registered a company, and for its details if you have.
How selection works: The Managing Committee, or a sub-committee of it, vets the feasibility of each proposal and recommends it for support.
Selected entrepreneurs pay a share of the cost of the support under a tripartite agreement between the government, the host institute and the entrepreneur.
How to apply: Download the Application of Entrepreneur/Incubatee form from the Business Incubator page and complete it. The site does not say where to send it, so use the contact details on the contact page.
