About Buddha Fellowship
The Buddha Fellowship supports development entrepreneurs — founders whose enterprises are a route to social and economic change in India's villages and small towns. It is the Institute's main programme, and what it states most clearly is how it selects people, through a four-stage admission process.
Who can apply
- Development entrepreneurs running enterprises that serve marginalised communities in rural India
- Not intended for conventional technology or urban startups
How selection works: Outreach and invitation of promising development enterprises → shortlisting against pre-defined criteria → an online interview with a panel of Buddha Institute team members and past Fellows → an in-person interview with jury members → a due-diligence visit to the candidate's enterprise.
How to apply: There is no open application form on the pages that could be read; entry runs through the Institute's own outreach and invitation. Reach out through the Institute's website to ask about the next intake.
