WCT-BEES Grants Programme

A programme by Wildlife Conservation Trust (Wildlife Conservation Trust)

The WCT-Biodiversity, Ecosystems, and Endangered Species Grants Programme (WCT-BEES Grants) aims to support critical conservation research and grassroots projects by awarding small grants to promising researchers, conservationists, and conservation organisations.

About WCT-BEES Grants Programme

This programme provides financial aid for the conservation of endangered species and critical habitats, addressing conservation issues by supporting organisations, motivated individuals, and researchers in India. Two types of grants are offered: Wildlife Research Small Grant and Grassroots Conservation Small Grant. These grants are open to all Indian citizens and organisations with a valid registration certificate for operations in India. Applicants need to hold a minimum of a graduate degree, and projects should focus on endangered species and/or landscapes of exceptional biodiversity value in India, not exceeding a duration of 10 months. Projects with conservation as a core component are preferred. Budgets may include project activities, essential fieldwork equipment, lodging, boarding, and a nominal staff stipend, but exclude organisational overheads, travel for conferences, permanent infrastructure, undercover/enforcement work, litigation expenses, or costly equipment like DSLR cameras, laptops, or vehicles. All data collected and intellectual property generated remain the property of the grantee, with an agreement to share relevant data, photos, and videos with WCT for outreach purposes.
