How It Works

   Grievance Assessment

   Advocate reviews the facts of the consumer dispute, identifies the nature of the deficiency or defect, and determines the appropriate Consumer Commission based on the value of the claim.

   Relief Calculation

   The reliefs to be claimed are identified, including refund or replacement value, compensation for mental agony, and litigation costs, and a total claim amount is computed.

   Notice Drafting

   A consumer protection legal notice is drafted citing the relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, describing the deficiency or defect, and demanding specific relief within a stated period.

   Client Review

   The client reviews the draft notice for factual accuracy, and any necessary corrections or additions are incorporated before finalisation.

   Dispatch and Documentation

   The notice is dispatched via registered post with acknowledgement due and/or email, and all evidence of dispatch is preserved for subsequent filing.

   Response and Next Steps

   The advocate monitors the opposite party's response. If the matter is not resolved, the advocate advises on filing a formal complaint before the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
