The selection process for the Grand Startup Challenge is structured and multi-stage. Initially, all eligible applications undergo a thorough screening by two independent reviewers. Each application is scored on a scale of 1 to 5 across four equally weighted criteria (25% each): Track fit and problem clarity, Product evidence (assessing idea, prototype, live users, named customers, data/models), Team credibility (evaluating full-time founders, relevant experience, founder video), and Traction signal (including paid pilots, paying customers, active users, and revenue over six months). Scores are averaged, and the strongest applications advance to the jury round. While traction is a positive signal, it is not a mandatory eligibility check; strong idea-stage teams can still progress. Shortlisted startups participate in a mentorship month to refine their solutions. The final stage is a grand finale in New Delhi, where these startups pitch and demo their solutions to a jury within their respective track rooms. Track winners then re-pitch in the main auditorium, followed by a felicitation ceremony.
