The AI & AgriTech Innovation Center was launched under the Maha Agri-AI Policy 2025-2029 by the Government of Maharashtra. It aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and frontier digital technologies across the agricultural value chain. The center is supported by the World Bank and Wadhwani AI, and collaborates with the IndiaAI Mission under MeitY.
The center operates multiple tracks including a Discovery & Ideation track that accelerates innovation at the earliest stages by supporting novel ideas and prototypes leveraging AI and data technologies to solve key agricultural challenges. The government has approved Rs 500 crore in the first phase for implementation. Related platforms under development include MahaAgriX (an agri data exchange), AI-enabled traceability systems, and MahaVistar (a farmer-centric AI advisory platform).
Agritech startups and innovators building AI-driven solutions for agriculture, including crop planning, farm operations, market access, and financial resilience for farmers. Researchers and teams working on practical, scalable applications of AI and machine learning in farming across India and emerging economies.
