IC IITP's main incubation programme is open to startup companies, students, faculty and other innovators building in Electronic System Design and Manufacturing, Medical Electronics, ICT, IoT, industrial automation, robotics or healthcare.

What you get

How selection works: applications go through a preliminary screening, then shortlisted teams pitch to an expert panel. The pitch can lead to an offer of incubation, an offer of the shorter pre-incubation track, or feedback so the team can revise its plan and reapply.

BioNEST-ICIITP, supported by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) and the Department of Biotechnology, is IC IITP's incubation track for founders working on life sciences, MedTech and biotech ideas.

What you get

• Air-conditioned co-working incubation space with cubicles, furniture and internet, at a minimal charge
• Meeting rooms and a larger conference room
• A dedicated office space, available on a rental basis
• Access to PCB prototyping, product design, 3D printing, testing and manufacturing labs

Who can apply

• Startups from idea stage through early scaling
• Working in bio-signal processing, medical imaging, biomedical devices, disease screening and diagnostics using biomarkers, or materials for medical and other applications

How selection works: applications are reviewed by domain experts, shortlisted founders pitch to a selection committee, and an offer follows for those selected, with an agreement signed before onboarding.

NIDHI Prayas is a Department of Science and Technology scheme, part of its NIDHI umbrella programme, that IC IITP hosts for founders in agriculture, healthcare, clean-tech, energy, water, IoT, Industry 4.0 and other emerging ESDM-relevant sectors. IC IITP's most recent application window for this scheme has closed.

What you get

• Funding assistance for prototype development
• Infrastructure support: co-working space, meeting rooms, conference facility
• Mentorship from experts
• Guidance in venture creation and securing further funds

Who can apply

• Young entrepreneurial aspirants with a prototype-level idea in the scheme's focus sectors

How selection works: applications are screened; only shortlisted participants are notified about a final presentation to the monitoring committee, and the committee's funding decision is final.

NIDHI-EIR is a Department of Science and Technology fellowship for a first-generation innovative entrepreneur to work full-time on a technology business idea for a year, without holding any other paid role at the same time.

What you get

• A monthly stipend for 12 months
• Guidance from mentors and experts on turning the idea into a product and on commercialisation
• Access to co-working space and lab facilities for prototyping

Who can apply

• An Indian citizen who has completed 4 years of full-time undergraduate/postgraduate education in science or engineering (or a 3-year degree/diploma plus 2 years' work experience)
• Willing to work on the idea full-time, with no other concurrent remuneration or fellowship

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme is a DPIIT programme, and IC IITP is one of the incubators disbursing it to eligible startups.

What you get

• A milestone-based grant for validating proof of concept, prototype development or product trials
• Investment for market entry, commercialisation or scaling, through convertible debentures or debt-linked instruments

Who can apply

• A startup recognised by DPIIT and incorporated no more than 2 years before applying
• A technology-based product or service with market fit and a viable path to commercialisation
• Has not received more than a small amount of monetary support under any other government scheme
• At least 51% Indian promoter shareholding
• Preference goes to MedTech, IoT and robotics, defence and space, biotechnology, energy and mobility, automobile, and automation startups

GENESIS (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups) is a MeitY programme aimed at Tier-II and Tier-III city startups in electronics, IT and deep tech, and IC IITP implements it across three separate tracks.

What you get

• Entrepreneur-in-Residence track: a stipend-style support for an early-stage innovator to work on an idea, capped at a modest amount
• Pilot track: funding for a startup running a paid pilot with an eligible corporate, PSU or unicorn
• Matching Investment track: a 1:1 matching grant against external funds already raised, through an equity instrument
• Across all tracks: mentorship from industry leaders, infrastructure and lab support, networking with investors and corporates, and training programmes

Who can apply

• EiR: Indian citizen, full-time UG/PG student or founder/co-founder of a DPIIT-registered startup up to 2 years old, willing to be physically incubated, based in a Tier-II/III city, not previously funded above a modest threshold
• Pilot: a DPIIT-registered startup with a working MVP and a pilot purchase order from an eligible corporate, PSU or unicorn
• Matching Investment: a registered Indian entity with at least 51% Indian ownership, based in a Tier-II/III city, DPIIT-registered, with a market-ready and preferably revenue-generating product

A short-term, fee-based course covering the terminology and core concepts behind medical-device innovation, run under IC IITP's continuing education programme.

• Undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and medical students, research scholars, startup founders, academicians and industry employees

A structured, weekly entrepreneurship-and-internship programme that IC IITP runs in batches with Moonpreneur, an EdTech company founded by IIT and IIM alumni. Its most recent listed batch ran 18 weeks from December 2025; an earlier batch ran 16 weeks from July 2023, so it appears to repeat rather than run only once.

Ideathon is a competition IC IITP runs to surface life-sciences ideas for its BioNEST biotechnology lab, in past editions run with the Department of Life Science at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. Its second edition, Ideathon 2.0, closed its submissions in March 2025 and held a final pitching round the same month, so treat the format as recurring but currently between editions.

What you get

• Cash prizes for the top ideas
• A chance for the top 20 ideas and prize winners to be incubated at BioNEST
• Mentorship on assessing the commercial potential of an idea and turning it into a product or service
• Help finding co-founders, consultants or complementary teammates

Who can apply

• Students, faculty and staff of the host institutions, and outside startup enthusiasts, with ideas in food technology, agri-tech, microbiology, biosensors, bio-electronics, nanotechnology, biotechnology or sustainable waste management

How selection works: submitted ideas are reviewed, and the top 20 present to an expert panel in a final pitching round.
