It is a focused initiative of the South Indian Education Society (SIES), set up with IIMA Ventures as its partner. SIES College of Management Studies (SIESCOMS), which sits on the same Nerul campus, links to the centre from its own website.

How the incubation programme works

The centre's incubation programme is for startups in their early stages, at the idea and minimum viable product (MVP) phases. Its pages list office space and technology, mentorship from experienced advisors, networking with industry experts and investors, and help exploring funding options. Training covers marketing, finance and operations, and the centre also offers guidance on regulatory compliance, business development and market access.

Sectors

The centre describes itself as sector-agnostic, meaning it welcomes startups across industries. It names a primary focus on deep tech, edtech, biotechnology and pharma, ESG and sustainable packaging, and media and entertainment.

Who can apply

The incubation programme page does not state an eligibility rule. The centre's footer describes it as an initiative for the SIES student community, while its About page says it welcomes startups across industries. Check with the centre before applying if you are not connected to SIES.

How selection works

Applicants go through five steps: submitting an application, review and shortlisting, a pitch presentation, selection and onboarding, and then the start of the programme.

Campus innovation

SIESCOMS set up an Institution's Innovation Council in 2022 to run innovation, IPR, startup and entrepreneurship activities. Its annual report lists faculty and students as members, and an Entrepreneurship Development Cell as a pre-incubation unit.
