आवेदन कैसे काम करते हैं

योजना बनाने से पहले तिथियाँ जाँचें

The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency, known in Hindi as उत्तराखण्ड अक्षय ऊर्जा विकास अभिकरण, is the state nodal agency for renewable energy and energy conservation programmes in Uttarakhand. It was set up in July 2001 under the administrative control of the state's Department of Energy & Renewable Energy, and it works from the Energy Park campus in Patel Nagar, Dehradun. Its pages describe central subsidies it delivers in the state, a state solar policy, and energy-efficiency schemes for industry, towns and farms.

How its programmes work

Most of the agency's programmes are central-government subsidies that it delivers in Uttarakhand. Family-size biogas plants, biogas-based power generation, solar cookers and concentrating solar systems all fall in this group. The pages state the central support for these, but for most of them they do not say who qualifies.

Other programmes are state-level. The Uttarakhand State Solar Policy, 2023 names the agency the nodal and implementing agency for distributed solar projects, and the state's improved watermill programme adds a state subsidy on top of the central one.

The solar policy's incentives apply to plants commissioned, or with a power purchase agreement signed, during the policy's operative period. They run for 25 years from the scheduled commissioning date. The policy text sets the incentives themselves, and the agency's pages do not reproduce them. Developers route their applications through the single window portal run by the Department of Industries, so UREDA's role is as the nodal and implementing agency rather than the point of entry for developers.

A further group are energy-efficiency schemes. PAT covers energy-intensive industrial sectors, MuDSM covers urban local bodies, and AgDSM replaces inefficient agricultural pump sets. Small hydro is different again. The agency builds micro and mini hydro projects under tripartite agreements with village User Energy Committees and with the Alternate Hydro Energy Centre at IIT Roorkee.

Who can apply

The groups differ by programme, and the pages name them only for some. The state solar policy covers solar power developers, consumers who lack adequate rooftop space or have inaccessible rooftops, and entities with several electricity connections. Traditional watermill owners qualify for the watermill upgrade subsidy. Concentrating solar systems are supported for commercial organisations at one share, and for non-commercial organisations in special-category states at a higher share.

Solar cookers are installed in government primary schools for mid-day meals and given to individual users. MuDSM is for urban local bodies such as Nagar Nigams, Nagar Palikas and Nagar Panchayats. AgDSM is for owners of agricultural pump sets, and PAT is for energy-intensive industrial units. For the biogas and small hydro programmes, the pages do not set out eligibility beyond the group served.

Scale

The figures below come from the agency's own pages. They are self-reported, not audited, and several are undated.

Family-size biogas plants: 4,356 installed in various districts to date. Micro and mini hydro: 44 projects with a composite capacity of 4.29 MW commissioned, and more than 300 villages and hamlets electrified through them. Its project table runs to about 2019-20. Solar cookers: around 6,419 installed or distributed up to 2015-16, under the mid-day meal programme in government schools and to individual users. Biogas power: 530 cubic metres of plants across 10 units, with 64 kW of generation capacity, given without a date.

The agency's introduction page gives its staff strength as 119 personnel, with 80 posts filled and 39 vacant.

Who runs it

The agency is set up as a registered society under the Society Registration Act 1860. Its executive body is headed by the Principal Secretary or Secretary of the state's Renewable Energy department. Its directory lists project officers in district offices across the state, and its contact page gives the Energy Park campus address for the head office.
