What is ReFlow 2026?

ReFlow 2026 is a national innovation hackathon from the IIT Bhubaneswar Research & Entrepreneurship Park (REP). It develops solutions that advance menstrual health and dignity through technology, research, design, and social innovation. The event runs on the IIT Bhubaneswar campus, tentatively in November-December 2026.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to students (UG, PG and PhD), startups and entrepreneurs, researchers and faculty members, healthcare professionals, designers and product innovators, NGOs and social enterprises, and technology professionals. Individuals and multidisciplinary teams may both apply.

What are the themes?

The themes are Education & Awareness, Menstrual Literacy through Digital Storytelling, Sustainability & Waste Management, Data Analytics, Sustainability & Reusable Products, and Smart Devices & IoT. Each application must align with at least one theme.

What can I submit?

You can submit an innovative idea, a research concept, an early-stage prototype, a product, or a technology-enabled solution. The program accepts work at any maturity, from concept to working product, if it addresses one of the stated themes.

Is there prize money or a grant?

The organisers do not publish any prize amount, grant, or seed funding for ReFlow 2026, and the program pages do not state the terms either way. Treat the disclosed benefits as developmental: mentorship, collaboration, validation with ecosystem partners, and a showcase to investors and policymakers. What is the timeline?

Applications opened on 15 June 2026. The last date to submit a proposal is 15 August 2026. Shortlisted applicants receive an email on 15 October 2026. The hackathon event runs in November-December 2026 (tentative) at the IIT Bhubaneswar campus.

Can I take part as a mentor, volunteer, or sponsor?

Yes. The organisers invite Expressions of Interest from mentors, experts, volunteers, collaborators, and sponsors through a separate "Join the Movement" form, distinct from the participant application.

ReFlow 2026 does not publish a prize amount, grant, or equity terms — the organisers have not disclosed a funding component. The value of the program is developmental. Participants receive mentorship from domain experts, researchers, and industry leaders to refine their solutions. The hackathon puts innovators into multidisciplinary teams, which broadens the skill set behind each idea. Shortlisted teams validate their ideas with the program's ecosystem partners, which tests market relevance before further build effort. Teams also showcase their innovations to experts, policymakers, healthcare professionals, investors, and other ecosystem stakeholders — the clearest route from this program to follow-on support.
