Check the fit first

• The fund says it is India-only and invests at pre-seed and seed. If you are already past seed, or are not building from India, this is probably not the right door.
• It says it is often a startup's first institutional investor, so it is most relevant if you have not yet taken an institutional round.
• No sector focus is stated, so say plainly what you are building and why now rather than fitting a category.

How to approach them

• The only route the site gives is an email to the pitch inbox on the fund's own domain. There is no form or portal.
• The site does not say what a pitch should contain. A short note on the problem, your team, current traction and what you are raising is a reasonable starting point.
• It states no timeline for replies. Send one clear message instead of several.

Know what is not published

• Fund size, cheque size, valuation approach and decision process are not on the site, so ask them directly in your first conversation.
• Its portfolio links go to each company's own website, so you can check how a founder found the fund and whether the company fits yours.

2am VC is an early-stage venture capital fund that invests in Indian founders. On its own website it says it backs startups at the pre-seed and seed stages, often as their first institutional investor, and that it is India-only. It lists offices in San Francisco, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

What the fund says it does

The firm describes itself as investing in ambitious founders building category-defining companies. It says it works closely with founders beyond the cheque, to help them build, scale and get through their earliest stages of growth. Its site frames this around four ideas: investing when an idea is still raw and the team is small, partnering before consensus forms, moving quickly with direct term sheets and immediate support, and connecting Indian companies with global capital, partners and enterprise scale.

Portfolio

The site shows a portfolio counter of 59+ companies and a grid of company logos linking to each startup's own website. Names in the grid include NEWME, Apnamart, FirstClub, Kalam Labs, Confido Health, GoSats, Flent, Eximpe, Bimaplan, Karbon Card, Intervue, Linkrunner, BugBase and Krayonnz. The fund does not name a sector focus; it describes the portfolio as companies across sectors. The count is the fund's own and carries no date.

How to reach the fund

The site has a "Pitch Your Startup" entry under the heading Direct Founder Intake. It points to one route: email a pitch to the fund's role inbox, pitch@2amvc.com. There is no application form, no intake window, no eligibility checklist and no deadline on the site, and it does not describe how a pitch is assessed or how long a reply takes. It also does not state fund size, typical cheque size or a street address.

Who runs it

The site lists two co-founders who are General Partners, Brendan Rogers and Hershel Mehta, along with Jaitra Narkar as Principal and Tirupathi Seth as Investment Analyst. A second page on the site, Insights, was still loading content when checked in October 2026.

Where it is based

The menu lists three places: SF, Mumbai and Bengaluru, without addresses. This page uses Mumbai, the first Indian city listed, as the location; if you plan to meet in person, ask which office the team will be in.
