About Incubation at BBB
BBB incubates biotech ventures in two forms. Residential incubation puts you in the building, on a shared wet bench, in an independent lab shell, or at an office desk or cubicle. Virtual incubation gives the same support services without the space, aimed at product or service innovation strategy, validation and go-to-market execution.
What you get
- A wet bench in the shared lab, an independent lab shell, or an office desk or cubicle
- The Central Instrumentation Facility and a BSL2 mammalian and bacterial culture facility
- A cold room, seminar hall, meeting rooms and a video conference room
- Access to the Advanced Technology Platform Centre and to faculty on the premises
- IP services, business coaching, marketing support and funding assistance
- Help recruiting and training staff, consultancy, and student internships
Who can apply
- Individual innovators, or companies that are registered or still only proposed, as a partnership or a private limited company
- Ventures in life sciences, biopharma, BioMedTech and allied areas
- No state, category or age restriction is published
How selection works: the site does not describe a selection panel or criteria. The form asks for a one-page technology or research proposal, team profiles, planned products and services, directors and management, and any funding held now or in the past.
How to apply: fill the online incubatee application form, saying whether you want residential or virtual incubation, for how many months, and which space you need. Questions go to bbb@rcb.res.in.
Incubation is charged. BBB publishes a rate sheet for the shared bench, independent shells, office desks, the culture facility and the instrumentation facility, with a discount for cluster members, so check the current sheet before applying.
