About MSME Innovative Scheme guidance
The MSME Innovative Scheme is the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises' own programme, combining three parts — incubation, design and intellectual property — that an applicant can take singly or in sequence. DTU-IIF publishes an explainer and says it will help with refining the idea, guiding the application and providing incubation support.
Who can apply
- MSMEs with a valid Udyam Registration
- Students of AICTE or UGC accredited institutions
- Design consultants and industrial designers
- Applicants seeking IP reimbursement who meet the ownership criteria
How selection works: ideas are screened by a host institute, then by a domain expert selection committee, then approved by the ministry's committee. Funds are released in stages against milestones and utilisation certificates.
How to apply: create an account on the ministry's own portal and approach a registered host institute. DTU-IIF offers to guide you through it.
