The lab is DERBI's most distinctive asset and it is open as a service, not only to incubatees. DERBI publishes an equipment list with charge details, a components bank list and an online sample-submission form — the only incubator we profile that prices its facilities openly. If you need instrument time rather than a desk, you can cost it out in advance.

What is on the bench

• Medical device testing: a Fluke ProSim 3 vital-sign simulator for ECG, pacemaker, arrhythmia, respiration, invasive blood pressure, temperature, cardiac output and fetal or maternal testing, and an ESA609 electrical safety analyser
• Analytical instruments: confocal laser RAMAN spectrometer, FTIR spectrophotometer, UV/VIS spectrophotometer, phase contrast microscope, thermal imaging and an optical table
• Electronics: PCB prototype and antenna milling, tabletop SMT pick-and-place, reflow oven, BGA rework, Tektronix oscilloscopes and function generator, spectrum analyser, programmable supplies, logic analyser and meters
• Sensor measurement: NI CompactDAQ chassis with digital I/O and voltage/current modules
• Prototyping: Stratasys uPrint SE 3D printer, Artec Eva Lite 3D scanner, benchtop lathe, bench drill, laser cutter and engraver, grinders and a bench vice
• Software and compute: LabVIEW, MATLAB and Simulink, and a DELL 5820 workstation with dual NVLink Quadro RTX5000 cards
