EDII-TN Innovation Voucher Program

The Innovation Voucher Program is run by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute under the Tamil Nadu Department of MSME, with TBI@KEC as a delivery partner. It is the one route here that does not require you to already be an incubatee, though sanctioned applicants agree to incubation with TBI@KEC on its terms.

There are two vouchers. Voucher A, entry into research, covers innovation potential analysis before you develop a new product or process — technology roadmap and market research, feasibility studies, a financing plan and technology audit, material and design studies, tailored training on innovation management, and research and development for a new product, process or service. Voucher B, entry into market, covers service engineering, prototyping, design services, technology transfer and IP procurement, product testing, quality assurance, validation and certification, and project management.

What you get

• Co-funding for most of an approved project budget; you meet the remainder and any cost overrun.
• A voucher valid twelve months from the date it is issued.
• A Kongu Engineering College faculty member as knowledge partner and mentor on the project.

Who can apply

• Manufacturing or service MSMEs and startups willing to innovate and improve their business.
• You must be registered and located in Tamil Nadu.
• You must be willing to co-finance the investment on the programme's terms.
• Very small projects are excluded, and vouchers cannot be transferred.

How selection works: applications are screened in the second week of every month, on innovation, potential for commercialisation and startup creation, team capability and commitment.
