About MSME Innovative Scheme — Incubation Component

This is the college's one route open to founders from outside its own classrooms. The Ministry of MSME recognised MVSR Engineering College as a Host Institute for the Incubation Component of the MSME Innovative Scheme in a letter dated 26 June 2023, and the college appears on the Ministry's own published list of approved Host Institutes under Telangana and Ranga Reddy district.

The scheme exists to support ideas that need validating at proof-of-concept level. Applications do not go to the college — an innovator submits an idea on the Ministry's incubation portal and nominates an approved Host Institute to back it.

What you get

  • A recognised Host Institute sponsoring your idea into the Ministry's scheme.
  • Support for developing and nurturing an approved idea, provided through the Host Institute rather than paid to you directly.
  • A named coordinator on campus — a Professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department who also runs the college's Innovation Council.

Who can apply

  • The college states no eligibility rule of its own and puts no restriction on applicants being its own students.
  • Eligibility is set by the Ministry for each call, so read the current call's terms on the Ministry's portal.
  • The scheme is aimed at the idea and proof-of-concept stage.

How selection works: the Host Institute evaluates ideas submitted through it and forwards shortlisted ones to the Ministry for approval. The college publishes no description of its own screening, so ask the coordinator what it involves.

How to apply: submit on the Ministry's incubation portal and nominate MVSR Engineering College as your Host Institute. Contact the college's coordinator at iic@mvsrec.edu.in first — the college's own page still links to an old edition of the MSME Idea Hackathon, so confirm the live call and the college's current intake before you nominate it.
