About National Startup Summit (Innovision)
The National Startup Summit is the foundation's yearly event at NIT Hamirpur. It is between editions — the last one ran on 9 March 2026 and no date has been announced for the next.
The 2025 edition ran over three days in February under the name Innovision, with the institute's Team Technical Activities student body. It had two competitions: an Ideathon, where teams pitched a business idea, and a Productathon, a 24-hour sprint to build a working prototype in front of industry mentors. Both carried prizes and incubation support for the winners, and at least one winning team was later taken on as an incubatee. The 2026 edition was a single day built around the Ignition Grant certificates and a PitchX pitching session, with thematic areas covering deep tech, women entrepreneurship, sustainability and agri-tech, spacetech and defence, and healthcare and biotech.
What you get
- Prizes for winning teams, plus incubation opportunities, structured mentorship and introductions to investors.
- First, second and third Best Pitch awards at the PitchX session.
- Workshops and mentorship sessions alongside the competitions.
Who can apply: Startups, innovators, students, researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country. The 2026 edition set out specifically to reach innovators from Tier-II and Tier-III regions.
How selection works: Pitches are judged on clarity of vision, problem-solution fit, feasibility and presentation, by a panel drawn from CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, NITTTR Chandigarh, NIT Hamirpur faculty and a founder from the incubator's own portfolio.
How to apply: No registration link has been published for either edition. Watch the events page for the next announcement, or write to itbioffice@nith.ac.in.
