Comunitá Sicredi

Comunitá is an investment vehicle of Sicredi cooperatives. It invests in startups that solve problems for cooperative members and communities, and it takes a minority equity stake in the startups it backs. The site says four startups have already received investment through it.

What you get

Who can apply

• Brazilian startups with validated product-market fit and traction with paying customers.
• Pre-operational startups with an MVP are also welcome, according to the site.
• Priority goes to startups that operate in, or plan to operate in, the cooperatives' territories.
• Themes named by the site include health and healthy ageing for people over 50, smart and sustainable cities, financial wellbeing, cooperativism and Generation Z.

How selection works: a form, then a short pitch interview, then the Selection Committee of Ventiur and cooperative members, then the Investment Committee, which reviews the financial, accounting and legal analysis and sets the amount and equity. A contract follows the negotiation.
