What is the difference between FIEO membership and an EPC RCMC?
Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) issue RCMCs for specific commodity categories. FIEO is the apex body and issues RCMC for products and services not covered by a dedicated EPC. Multi-product exporters sometimes hold both an EPC RCMC for their main product and a FIEO RCMC as a general certification.
Is FIEO RCMC valid for service exports?
Yes. Service exporters including IT companies, engineering consultancies, and educational institutions commonly use the FIEO RCMC as SEPC (Service Export Promotion Council) is the specialist body for services but FIEO is also recognised as an alternative registration for DGFT purposes.
