About this competition
Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar (GRVP) is an annual award introduced by the Government of Goa through the Department of Science & Technology & Waste Management (DS&T&WM), implemented through the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC). It is a cash prize competition to encourage, identify and recognize Innovators/Scientists who have implemented their Ideas to Innovations that are changing the life of the world.
The GRVP will be awarded each year to Innovators/Scientists who develop their Ideas into a Product or Process that has been adopted or has high probability of being adopted in the State of Goa.
SCOPE 3 awards are given each financial year to Goan Innovators/Scientists, one each in the categories of:
- Innovation
- Environment
- Societal Impact
Each award is in the form of a cash prize of INR 2,00,000 (INR 2 lakh), directly deposited in the beneficiary's bank account.

Selection Process
The selection process involves an initial shortlisting by a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which includes a Chairman and three expert members from Science, Technology, and Innovation disciplines. Following this, selected applicants will present in a Final Round Presentation before an Expert Committee, comprising a Chairman and two government-nominated members (professionals/experts/past award recipients). After the final presentations, results are declared, and GSInC forwards approved decisions with pre-receipt and bank account details to DS&T&WM for direct bank transfer.
