Four programmes run in sequence — pre-incubation, incubation, acceleration and virtual incubation — and one recurring open call, the Open Challenge Program, is how you get into them. Acceleration is only open to companies that have already been through incubation here. The centre also runs student hackathons, internships and college outreach across Odisha, which are not startup intake routes.

The Open Challenge Program is how EP Bhubaneswar takes people in. It runs as numbered seasons rather than a standing form; the eighth season closed in August 2026, and earlier seasons have run since at least 2024. It is open to startups and innovators working on innovative ideas in electronics system design and manufacturing.

ESDM lab
STPI describes the lab as equipped for prototyping and testing in power electronics, LED, communication and RF, with instruments including power meters and analysers, programmable loads and DC supplies, spectrometers, lux meters, logic and signal analysers, spectrum and vector network analysers and fibre test kits, plus embedded hardware and software tooling.
