Kotak Mahindra Bank is one of India's leading private-sector banks, headquartered in Mumbai. Founded in 1985 as a finance company by Uday Kotak and converted into a full-service bank in 2003 after receiving a banking licence from the Reserve Bank of India, Kotak has signed an MoU with DPIIT to extend dedicated financial and non-financial support to startups across India.
Under this partnership, DPIIT-recognised startups can access zero-balance current accounts, working capital and term loans, API-based banking platforms, digital payment solutions, and specialised startup cards. The bank also facilitates mentorship, investment advisory, incubation support, and networking platforms to help startups progress from ideation to scale. The collaboration particularly targets startups in emerging sectors such as clean technology, deep tech, agritech, healthtech, and sustainability, which are central to India's transition toward a self-reliant and innovation-driven economy.
DPIIT-recognised startups at any stage seeking customised banking solutions, credit and funding opportunities, digital payment infrastructure, and capacity-building programmes to scale their operations across India.
