The Technology Development Board (TDB), operating under India's Department of Science & Technology, in collaboration with Business Finland, launched the India-Finland Joint Innovation Call 2026. Can Indian companies apply without a Finnish partner?
No. A mandatory bilateral R&D collaboration with a company registered in Finland is required. The Indian company must serve as the designated Indian Project Lead (IPL) for the project.
What types of Indian entities are eligible?
Only commercial for-profit companies registered under the Companies Act 1956 or 2013 with at least 51% Indian ownership and headquarters in India. LLPs, sole proprietorships, OPCs, and traditional partnerships are explicitly not eligible.
How much grant can an Indian company receive?
Up to INR 2.5 crore per project, capped at 50% of the total Indian project cost. Funds are disbursed on a reimbursement basis for already-incurred expenses.
