How to approach 4U

The website has no application form, no intake window and no deadline. It has a Talk to Us page with the Powai office address and a general inbox, hello@4uvp.com, and the About page invites founders with a question or idea to reach out. Treat it as a fund you approach with a short, specific note, not a programme you apply to.

Check the fit first

• Stage: pre-seed or seed. A company that is already well past seed is outside the stated entry stage.
• Sector: AI, consumer tech, SaaS and enterprise, Bharat, or frontier tech.
• Geography: India is the primary focus. Indian founders building for the world are welcome.
• Founder traits: the site stresses integrity, speed of execution and a sharp focus on one real problem. Show these with what you have already shipped and learned.

What to put in your note

• The problem, who has it, and what you have built so far
• Why your team can move quickly and what you learned from early users
• Who else is in the round, since the firm says it can lead or co-invest
• What help you want beyond cash: hiring, product and go-to-market, or introductions to customers and investors

The firm does not publish a diligence checklist or a reply time, so do not expect a fixed process. It describes its decisions as quick, so keep your materials ready.

4U Venture Partners is a Mumbai venture fund that backs founders at the pre-seed and seed stage. The firm is run by Four U Venture Partners LLP, and its vehicle, 4U Fund, is a SEBI-registered VC fund launched in 2025. The site lists its AIF registration on a Fund Details page.

The team traces its history back to 2015, when it began backing startups in a personal capacity. In 2017 it set up PitchRight Ventures as a family office, and in 2020 it secured its SEBI licence and launched the PitchRight Ventures Angel Fund. 4U Fund is the next step. Founders may still see the PitchRight name in older testimonials on the homepage.

What it backs

The About page gives the entry stage as pre-seed to seed rounds, with follow-on in later rounds. Sectors and themes are AI, consumer tech, SaaS and enterprise, Bharat, and frontier tech. The firm says India is its primary focus, but it also backs Indian founders building for the world, wherever they are. On its portfolio page it shows fintech, health tech, supply chain, B2B commerce, consumer and frontier tech companies, split by status (active or exited) and by whether the angel fund, the family office or a partner made the investment.

How it works with founders

4U says it often leads rounds and is equally comfortable co-investing with aligned partners. It describes its decision process as quick, designed to give founders clarity while staying conviction-driven. Beyond capital, it says it helps with hiring key talent, refining product and go-to-market, and opening doors to customers, partners and future investors. The firm reserves capital to back its winners across later stages.

What it looks for

The homepage lists three traits: high integrity, a bias for action and speed, and sharp focus on a clearly defined problem. The fund launch post adds that the founder matters most, and names integrity, clarity, speed of execution and the ability to focus on solving a real problem. The partners describe themselves as builders before investors, with their own experience of launching products, building teams and raising capital.
