IndiaAI (MeitY)

IndiaAI is the flagship national initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), launched under the IndiaAI Mission with an outlay of ₹10,372 crore over five years. It serves as the primary government channel for AI startup funding, infrastructure access, and ecosystem development in India.

Core Programs for Startups

• IndiaAI Startup Financing: Direct grant and equity-free support for early-stage AI startups building solutions for priority sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance
• IndiaAI Compute Facility: Subsidized access to high-performance GPU clusters (10,000+ GPUs) via Indian compute partners, enabling startups to train large-scale models at a fraction of commercial cloud costs
• IndiaAI Datasets Platform: A curated platform providing access to Indian language datasets, satellite data, and sectoral datasets to help startups build India-specific AI products
• IndiaAI FutureSkills: Skilling programs to build an AI-ready talent pool across India
• AI Innovation Centers: National AI Centers (NAIC) co-located with leading institutions for applied R&D and startup incubation

Eligibility & Funding

IndiaAI targets AI/ML startups at ideation, pre-product, and early-revenue stages. Grant amounts vary by program window. The initiative also facilitates access to government procurement channels for AI solutions.

Who Should Apply

AI-first startups building for Indian language understanding, healthcare diagnostics, agri advisory, edtech, financial inclusion, smart governance, and infrastructure monitoring. Startups requiring GPU compute access or large Indian-language training data will find IndiaAI particularly valuable.
