Incubation Program

The main route in. It runs twelve months and expects you on the STEP campus, working on the venture full time.

What you get

• A dedicated workspace on campus, with the labs, meeting rooms and prototyping facilities that go with it
• Seed funding support, routed through a JSS startup fund and government schemes and described as subject to availability
• Mentoring from industry veterans and an entrepreneur-in-residence
• Legal and accounting assistance from in-house consultants, including company secretarial and IP work
• Help getting recognised under Startup India
• Introductions to angel investors and venture funds, and monthly investor pitch days

Who can apply

• Anyone with an innovative idea or an early-stage prototype
• You must be able to commit full time
• You must be willing to be based at the STEP campus
• Students, alumni and external entrepreneurs are all named as eligible — a JSS connection is not required

How it runs: months one to three on problem-solution fit, market research, customer discovery and the business model; months four to six building an MVP with lab access, technical mentors and design thinking workshops; months seven to nine on pilot testing, feedback loops, product iteration and first customers; months ten to twelve on go-to-market, pitch refinement, investor readiness and a demo day.
