About Kalaari Capital

Kalaari Capital is a technology-focused venture capital fund based in Bengaluru. It invests across consumer tech, deep tech and Enterprise AI, from Pre-Seed to Series A, and marks 20 years of venture investing. Its fund vehicle is Kalaari Capital Partners India IV, managed by KCP Managers LLP.

How to pitch Kalaari

Kalaari runs a standing pitch form on its site, called What's Your Pitch. There is no cohort, deadline or application window. Every application is reviewed by the investment team, and the fund says you will hear next steps if it fits its thesis and timely feedback if it does not. The fund says it looks at the market, product, traction and the founding team, and prefers product-centric founders with deep, differentiated insight into the problem they are solving.

The process has four steps. First is an introduction and fit conversation about the problem, product, market and founder-market fit. Next come deep dives and partner huddles, where you may meet several members of the team and go through the data room. Then you are invited to present to the Investment Committee, and Kalaari says it will tell you the decision within a week. Last, the team works with you on product-market fit, pricing and go-to-market. Kalaari says most journeys complete in about 4-6 weeks from first call. It prefers to lead the round but is open to co-investing with other investors.

Programmes

CXXO is Kalaari's initiative backing companies led by women CEOs. It is sector agnostic, has 10 portfolio companies, and describes itself as a seed initiative.

KStack is a partner hub for Kalaari portfolio companies only. It lists credits and discounts from cloud, SaaS, payments and other providers. It is a benefit of being in the portfolio, not something you apply to.

The Kalaari Fellowship is a selective two-year programme for people starting a career in venture capital. It is not a programme for startup founders. Fellows spend the first year on analysis and training and the second year on deal-making and founder relationships. The stages are application, case study, technical interviews, a culture round and an offer.

Support after investment

Kalaari says its partners act as a sounding board on product-market fit, go-to-market, customer introductions and later fundraising rounds. A portfolio services team helps with finance, legal and hiring. It says it stays invested over the long run and takes part in later rounds based on business progress.

Portfolio

Companies founders name as Kalaari-backed on its pages include Zluri, Simplilearn, CashKaro, Eloelo, Dream11, Digantara, BlueStone and YourStory.

Where to find them

The office is in Whitefield, Bengaluru. Founders can write to the investments inbox for outreach, and there is a general info inbox for other questions. Visitors are asked to share their name, phone number and email with their point of contact in advance to get a gate pass for the complex.
